Ice Cream Treat Teacher Gift

Teaching dance is one of the best decisions I ever made. We have our Spring Recital next weekend so this week was the last week of classes with my girls. I try to get them something special for the end of the year so they leave feeling special and excited to be on the "big stage". This year it was these Target lipglosses for the win. The ice cream cones? Killer. The pink and purple? Crowdpleaser.

Twelve glossies for $5, you can't beat that

Add a little cheesy note that no one will read, check.

They were a hit.

If you want to recreate these - you can find the lipglosses at Target and the printable below. Happy end of year to all the teachers out there!

Grocery + Menu Planner: An Anthro Knockoff

I got this meal planner from Anthro for Christmas this year - I have to confess, I LOVE IT, it makes meal planning and grocery shopping so much easier. But, if you're not up for spending $16 on your menu planner, I've come up with a knock off below.

Print on legal size paper so you can have plenty of room to write everything out.

Being Joyful

C.S. Lewis is incredible. Every time I read his work, whether it's fiction or philosophy, I can't help but be amazed at the insights he gained during his life.

This week I've been thinking a lot about how to be happy. Not just how to "feel" happy, but how to truly "be" happy. As I read through some of my favorite quotes on joy, these two from him stood out to me.

I think one of the greatest challenges of modern time is realizing that joy can not be streamed. It can't be instantly at our fingertips in the same way Google is. Joy takes work, a concerted effort to develop in ourselves the ability to be joyful regardless of our circumstances. You can't trick yourself into being filled with joy, no amount of entertainment or pleasure will get you there, joy comes from some place within.

I want to be better at being joyful. Any tips?

My Favorite Online Shops

I'm an online shopping addict. I'm not afraid to admit that at any given time I have between 10-100 items in my online shopping carts.

My strategy is to systematically add things to all of my carts and then check them weekly to see if prices dropped or if there is a sale. The husband thinks it is INSANE. It might be, but it works for me because I get the thrill of adding things to my cart and the rush of saving money on those things when a sale pops up! Everyone wins!

This weekend I bought 16 items (2 dresses, 4 tops, 3 pants, 2 sweaters,  and 1 sneaker for the baby girl and 4 shirts, 1 pant, and 1 coat for the little man) from Gap and Old Navy for 80 bucks. I waited until they all went on sale and then used their sale code to get an additional 40% off.

Some of my favorite online shops right now are:

Piper and Scoot - I basically want to buy everything she posts. While her stuff isn't the cheapest, it's great quality, and I always get compliments when I wear something from here. Some of my favorites right now are:

Roolee - Again, I basically want to buy everything. If you see something you love that isn't in style - make sure to email them, they are wonderful at restocking and send an email when something you want comes back in stock! Some of my favorites are:
Do you have any hidden gems to share - if so, let me know, my shopping addiction thanks you!

Hello Gorgeous + Blank Floral Square

I came up with this little beauty to hang above my daughter's bed. I loved the floral square so much I saved a blank file to keep for quotes, notes, and handouts.

Daughters of Our Eternal Father - April 2016 Visiting Teaching

This message is my favorite so far. I love the simplicity of the message. We are all children of God, and that must mean that men are his sons and we are his daughters. As his daughters, he must love us immensely and care about us deeply, and he has shown he has by giving us the gift of His Son.

I hope we can all share this message with not just our visiting teaching sisters, but with every woman we know. There is power in knowing you are divinely created and loved by an all powerful Father.
